Palace: DOH should've been clearer on home quarantine rules

The Palace blamed the Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday for unclear guidelines on home quarantine that may have contributed to a surge in coronavirus infections.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said the DOH did not clearly state that asymptomatic and mild cases can stay at home if they have their own room and bathroom, and do not share the house with elderly or immunocompromised individuals.

Roque acknowledged that clearer guidelines from the start could have helped prevent the increase in cases.

The government has launched Oplan Kalinga to transport patients who cannot meet home quarantine requirements to isolation facilities.
