Metro Manila mayors recommend extending GCQ

Metro Manila mayors have recommended extending the current general community quarantine (GCQ) measures until September 30.

During a meeting with the national task force on Sunday, mayors agreed to maintain GCQ status and shorten curfew hours.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said factors such as healthcare capacity and case doubling rates are still being assessed.

Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez confirmed that mayors are suggesting maintaining GCQ for 30 days in September.
