Metro Manila LGUs close cemeteries Oct 29-Nov 2

Metro Manila local government units have ordered the temporary closure of public and private cemeteries from October 29 to November 2, 2021, during Undas, to prevent COVID-19 transmission.

Taguig and Malabon are among the cities closing their cemeteries for these dates; Malabon residents were advised to participate in online masses or light candles instead.

The Metro Manila Council passed a resolution urging all NCR LGUs to restrict cemetery access during this period, allowing visits earlier than October 29 or later than November 2 at 30% venue capacity.

MMDA Chairman Benhur Abalos reiterated that public cemeteries will be closed for five days even though NCR is under Alert Level 3 from October 16 to 31.
