Metro Manila, 9 other areas stay under GCQ until March 31

Metro Manila and nine other areas will remain under general community quarantine (GCQ) until March 31.

The affected regions include Metro Manila, Apayao, Baguio City, Kalinga, Mt. Province, Batangas, Tacloban City, Iligan City, Davao City, and Lanao del Sur.

President Duterte approved the recommendation of the government coronavirus task force to maintain GCQ in these areas despite initial suggestions from Metro Manila mayors to ease into modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) due to health experts' concerns over the UK variant.
