IATF approves uniform travel protocols, no longer requires PNP authority

The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) has approved uniform travel protocols that no longer require a PNP authority or medical certificate for travel.

Under these new guidelines, travelers are not required to undergo COVID-19 testing unless mandated by their destination LGU; such tests must be RT-PCR if conducted.

The DOT supports the simplification of requirements and believes it will encourage domestic tourism during Holy Week.

LGUs have discretion over whether to mandate swab tests or quarantine measures based on local conditions.
