Duterte eyes MGCQ nationwide as economy suffers

Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III said Metro Manila may shift to modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) in April to aid economic recovery.

President Rodrigo Duterte is considering placing the entire country under MGCQ as soon as enough vaccine doses are available, citing economic concerns and the need for faster vaccine distribution.

Duterte emphasized that people need to work and earn money, stressing that without opening the economy, it would be difficult to sustain livelihoods.
