Army aids relief efforts, boosts troop morale

The Philippine Army assisted in transporting and distributing relief goods to residents of Barangay 175 in Caloocan City on Thursday.

Troops from the 11th Civil-Military Operations Battalion helped private organizations 'K-Noonas Buy Your Food' and 'AvengersPH' deliver food supplies to sustain families during the enhanced community quarantine.

Army personnel also conducted information campaigns using mobile loudspeakers to educate residents about proper hygiene and the importance of the quarantine.

On Tuesday, Philippine Army commander Lt. Gen. Gilbert Gapay sent a medical team and free pizza to troops manning checkpoints on NLEX and McArthur Highway in Valenzuela City and Caloocan City.

The assistance was aimed at boosting troop morale as they enforce the 30-day enhanced community quarantine.
