AFP chief tests positive for coronavirus

Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief General Felimon Santos Jr tested positive for coronavirus on Tuesday, March 23.

Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana announced he would go into self-quarantine after learning of Santos' condition on Friday, March 27, as they had close contact twice in the past week.

Santos will be under strict home quarantine at his residence for 14 days starting from Friday until April 10.

A senior military official and his wife also tested positive earlier, prompting increased measures within Camp Aguinaldo to prevent further spread of the virus.
