Maring causes PHP575M infra damage in 3 regions

Severe Tropical Storm Maring has caused PHP575 million worth of infrastructure damage in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), Ilocos Region, and Cagayan Valley.

As of Thursday, 23 national road sections have reopened while 10 remain impassable due to soil collapse, debris flow, landslides, damaged bridges, and flooding.

On Tuesday, DPWH reported that the number of closed roads had reached 24 with CAR having 17 affected roads, three each in Ilocos Region and Cagayan Valley, and one in Central Visayas.

The closed roads are due to fallen trees, landslides, floods, continuous mudslides, and damage to bridges.
