Marcos swears in new BTA members at Malacañang

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. administered the oath of office to newly appointed members of the Parliament of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) at Malacañang on Monday, March 24.

In his speech, President Marcos emphasized the critical role these officials will play in shaping the future of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), reinforcing their responsibility to uphold peace and development.

The President urged the new BTA members to continue the region's path toward peace, self-governance, and long-term development, acknowledging the importance of moving forward despite the region's history of conflict.

Marcos also highlighted the collective responsibility of both the national and regional governments to protect the progress made in the Bangsamoro peace process to ensure uninterrupted advancement.

The Chief Executive led the breaking of the fast or Iftar as a celebration in solidarity with the Bangsamoro community observing Ramadan, underscoring the shared desire for peace and progress that binds all Filipinos.
