Marcos leads Araw ng Kagitingan commemoration in Bataan

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. will lead the commemoration of Araw ng Kagitingan at Mount Samat National Shrine in Bataan on Wednesday.

The event is part of Philippine Veterans Week and includes a wreath-laying ceremony to honor Filipino and American soldiers who fought in World War II.

Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr., ambassadors from the United States and Japan, and other government officials will join Marcos at the shrine.

This year's theme for Philippine Veterans Week is 'Kabayanihan ng Beterano: Sandigan ng Kaunlaran ng Bagong Pilipinas', highlighting veterans' contributions to the nation.

Veterans Week activities began on April 5 with a sunrise ceremony and military parade, and will conclude on April 11 with a sunset ceremony at Libingan ng mga Bayani.
