Marcos denies PH-China deal on BRP Sierra Madre withdrawal

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. denied on Wednesday that there is any deal with China to remove the BRP Sierra Madre from Second Thomas Shoal in the South China Sea.

Marcos said he was unaware of any such arrangement and, if an agreement existed, he rescinds it.

China had claimed that the Philippines agreed to withdraw the ship, but both Malacañang and the Department of Foreign Affairs denied these claims.
