Marcos Jr. kicks off Mindanao Senate campaign in Duterte stronghold

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s campaign for Senate seats in Mindanao began on Saturday, February 15, in Carmen, Davao del Norte, a region long dominated by the Duterte political dynasty.

The administration-backed senatorial ticket aims to strengthen its hold on Mindanao's voting base as it intensifies its power struggle with the Duterte camp.

Davao del Norte, with 721,737 registered voters, is the most vote-rich province in Southern Mindanao and a crucial battleground for political influence.

The campaign rally, set to begin at 4pm, highlights Marcos Jr.'s strategy of targeting key areas within Duterte's stronghold, such as Carmen, hometown of Special Assistant to the President Anton Lagdameo.

Campaign manager Navotas Representative Toby Tiangco remains optimistic that Mindanaoans will support the administration’s Senate slate committed to economic growth, infrastructure expansion, and social welfare programs.
