Manila: Few vaccinated before contracting COVID-19

Manila has vaccinated about 2,500 health workers since its vaccination program began this month.

Out of 102 medical front-liners from six district hospitals who contracted COVID-19 between March 1 and 17, only ten had been vaccinated before their diagnosis.

Mayor Isko Moreno urged healthcare workers to get inoculated to reduce the risk of infection.

The city government resumed vaccinations on Thursday with an additional 1,870 Sinovac and 1,000 AstraZeneca doses received from the national government.
