Chelsea Manalo crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2024

Chelsea Manalo of Bulacan was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2024 at the coronation night event on Wednesday, May 22, following an impressive performance that saw her emerge victorious among fifty-two candidates.

The crowning ceremony at SM Mall of Asia Arena featured notable moments such as Alden Richards' hosting and performances by Thai actor Win Metawin, who sang 'Night Ride,' as well as OPM band Lola Amour and 'RuPaul's Drag Race: UK vs. The World' finalist Marina Summers.

Four additional national titles were awarded: Ahtisa Manalo (Miss Cosmo Philippines), Tarah Valencia (Miss Supranational Philippines), Alexie Brooks (Miss Eco International Philippines), and Cyrille Payumo (Miss Charm Philippines).

Kapuso actress Rhian Ramos had a meme-worthy moment during the event, making a phone call that fans thought was to someone else; she clarified it was actually to Samantha Panlilio, her close friend.

Ramos assured fans via social media that everything was okay and that they had met up.

Despite Chelsea's strong performance, many pageant fans expressed disappointment over Ahtisa Manalo receiving the Miss Cosmo Philippines title instead of the overall crown. Some suggested she should decline or resign from the title.
