Malacañang suspends work, classes in Luzon due to Karding

Malacañang declared a suspension of work in government offices and classes at all levels in public schools for Monday, Sept. 26, due to Super Typhoon Karding.

The suspension covers Metro Manila and several provinces in the rest of Luzon, including Ilocos Norte, La Union, Cagayan Region, and Central Luzon.

Governors of Ilocos Norte and La Union separately issued executive orders suspending classes and work on Monday for safety reasons.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. approved the recommendation of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council to suspend activities in affected areas.

Private companies and schools are advised to make their own decisions regarding suspension based on local conditions.
