Makati orders closure of Berjaya Hotel over quarantine breach

The Makati City government ordered the closure of Berjaya Makati Hotel on Thursday following a Department of Tourism (DoT) suspension and fine for failing to prevent a guest from violating quarantine protocols.

Berjaya Makati Hotel disputes the city's order, stating it has no legal basis and that they will appeal the DoT decision within 15 days.

The DoT suspended Berjaya's accreditation for three months and fined them P13,200 after a guest named 'Poblacion Girl' left the hotel to go out in Makati despite being under quarantine.
