LTO suspends content creator's license for using phone while driving

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has suspended the license of a content creator who was caught using his cellphone while driving a Porsche on a highway, and has issued a show cause order against him.

In a statement to ABS-CBN News, LTO Executive Director Greg Pua emphasized that this action violates road safety rules under the Anti-Distracted Driving Act and involves three charges: reckless driving, violation of the act, and being an improper person to operate a motor vehicle.

The driver's license was suspended for 70 days pending further investigation, with a hearing scheduled on July 10th for the driver to explain his behavior.

Both the registered owner and the driver were summoned to submit explanations before the LTO Central Office, and the Porsche sports car involved was placed under alarm as part of the enforcement measures.

Pua urged content creators to avoid making videos that could lead to vehicular accidents or penalties from the LTO.
