LTO revokes driver's license after fatal jeepney crash

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has revoked the license of jeepney driver Chito Tabilog following a fatal crash on Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City last April 13.

The accident resulted in two deaths and injuries to 16 others when the jeepney overturned after hitting another vehicle.

According to LTO chief Vigor Mendoza, Tabilog was fined P2000 for reckless driving and had his license revoked due to improper operation of a motor vehicle as part of President Marcos Jr.'s directive on road safety.

CCTV footage showed that Tabilog's jeepney was speeding near Kasunduan Street before colliding with another modernized jeepney and overturning, hitting a sedan as well.

The victims included two students on their way to attend ROTC who were killed in the incident.
