LTFRB open to jeepney franchise extension if operators join modernization

LTFRB Chair Teofilo Guadiz III said he is willing to meet with Piston to discuss extending jeepney franchise validity to five years.

Guadiz assured operators that joining the modernization program qualifies them for a five-year franchise, regardless of whether they complete consolidation by December 31.

During a media briefing on Monday, Guadiz emphasized the need for PUV operators to consolidate into cooperatives but expressed hope for accommodating discussions with Piston.
