Butchoy intensifies into tropical storm, leaves PAR

Tropical Depression Butchoy intensified into a tropical storm, left the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Friday, June 12.

Butchoy made landfall twice in Quezon province on Thursday before crossing Central Luzon and exiting through Zambales early Friday morning.

As of Friday evening, Butchoy was located west northwest of Dagupan City with maximum winds of 65 km/h and gustiness up to 80 km/h.

The southwest monsoon or hanging habagat will continue to cause rain in parts of the country.
