LGU’s, schools suspend classes due to extreme heat

Some local government units and schools suspended face-to-face classes on Monday due to extreme heat conditions.

Malabon City canceled all public school classes, while Caloocan City halted in-person instruction for kindergarten through senior high school.

Pasay City extended the suspension of both public and private school classes at all levels from Wednesday to Thursday, May 15 to 16, due to intense heat forecasts.

Iloilo City suspended both public and private school classes at all levels, and Muntinlupa shifted to blended learning for public schools from kindergarten to senior high school.

Tanza, Cavite, suspended afternoon classes for public schools from kindergarten to senior high school.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warned that 36 areas across the country could experience dangerous heat levels, potentially leading to heat-related illnesses.
