Rep Wilbert Lee files COC, aims for accessible healthcare and affordable food

Agri party-list Representative Wilbert Lee became the first senatorial aspirant to file his certificate of candidacy (COC) with the Commission on Elections (Comelec) at the Manila Hotel Tent City in Manila around 8 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Lee, who is running under Aksyon Demokratiko, told reporters that he aims to advocate for accessible healthcare and affordable food during his campaign and promised to alleviate fear brought about by uncertainty in the country.

Supporters of Lee gathered early outside the filing site with banners and placards; some even arrived as early as 5 a.m. with a band.

Sustainability advocate David Chan also filed his COC on Tuesday, aiming for a third Senate bid and pushing for rice prices at PHP30/kg and sustainable energy.

Lee emphasized that he will continue his advocacy in Congress and highlighted his two-year track record as a House representative, adding that he intends to treat his supporters after filing.
