8 senatorial, 14 party-list file COCs on Day 6

On Sunday, October 6, the sixth day of the week-long filing period for certificates of candidacy (COCs), eight senatorial aspirants and fourteen party-list groups submitted their applications to the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

As of Day 6, a total of 78 senatorial candidates and 87 party-list groups have filed their COCs since the start of the week.

Comelec Chairperson George Erwin Garcia noted that out of the expected number of accredited party-list groups, only a small fraction has filed their certificates of nomination and acceptance (CONA) so far.

Garcia expressed hope for an orderly filing process in the remaining two days, emphasizing the need for continued peace and security during this period.

No untoward incidents were reported at filing sites on Day 6.
