House leaders criticize PDP-Laban for pushing senatorial bets loyal to VP Sara during impeachment

House leaders on Thursday criticized PDP-Laban's call for voters to elect senators who will be allies of Vice President Sara Duterte during her impeachment trial.

Deputy Majority Leader Paolo Ortega V said that campaigns should focus on advocating platforms and not personal interests.

Assistant Majority Leader Ernesto Dionisio agreed, emphasizing the importance of loyalty to the country over individual support.

The House impeached Vice President Duterte last February 5 with 240 members signing the complaint based on seven Articles of Impeachment.

Articles include accusations of conspiracy in assassination plots, corruption involving confidential funds, and destabilization efforts.

Dionisio noted that all articles are equally important but conceded that the NBI filing of inciting to sedition carries significant weight.
