Marcio Lassiter breaks PBA career triples record

San Miguel sniper Marcio Lassiter broke Jimmy Alapag's Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) record for career triples made during a game against Barangay Ginebra at Smart Araneta Coliseum on Sunday, September 15.

Lassiter surpassed Alapag's mark of 1,250 three-pointers in just over seven minutes with his third consecutive basket from the left wing and ended the game with six triples and a total of 18 points.

Inspired by Lassiter's record-breaking performance, San Miguel dominated Barangay Ginebra with a historic 49-point victory, securing their biggest win margin in franchise history with a final score of 131-82.

Former teammate Jimmy Alapag congratulated Lassiter on social media for breaking his PBA three-point record and praised him for raising the bar for future players.

Lassiter expressed humility about being called a legend, thanked his coach for trusting him, and now focuses on helping San Miguel achieve its ultimate goal of ruling the cup in the 76th season of the 2024 PBA Governors' Cup.

Alapag congratulated Lassiter via Instagram, noting that he deserved the honor and praising his work ethic and consistency over the years.
