UST advances to UAAP women's finals vs National University

For the second straight year, University of Santo Tomas (UST) will face National University in a best-of-three UAAP Season 87 women's basketball championship series.

On Wednesday at Smart Araneta Coliseum, UST secured a 71-59 victory over Adamson University to advance to the finals, with head coach Haydee Ong emphasizing that her team is an underdog against National University due to NU's perfect record this season.

UST star Kent Pastrana led the team with another strong performance of 23 points, 16 rebounds, eight assists, and six steals, while CJ Maglupay contributed 13 points, 11 rebounds, and six steals in their victory.

Coach Ong stressed the importance of defensive adjustments and minimizing turnovers to improve their chances against NU, noting that teamwork will be crucial for the upcoming championship series.
