Lacson resigns from Reporma, becomes independent candidate

Independent presidential candidate Senator Panfilo 'Ping' Lacson resigned from Partido Reporma on March 24.

Lacson cited the party's decision to endorse another candidate as the reason for his resignation, effectively making him an independent candidate.

Partido Reporma was founded in 1998 and has not significantly grown until preparations for the 2022 elections when former House speaker Pantaleon Alvarez funded its revival.

Lacson expressed concern over 'money politics' dominating the May 2022 elections, stating that it leads to a cycle of revenge between candidates and voters.
