Lacson rejects calls to withdraw from presidential race

Senator Panfilo 'Ping' Lacson rejected calls for him to withdraw from the presidential race.

Lacson said he will not back out of the May 9 elections despite Rep. Jose Atienza's suggestion that he should withdraw to give a stronger tandem a chance against frontrunners Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Sara Duterte.

Atienza is considering pulling out of the vice presidential race to partner with Senate President Vicente Sotto III, who is Lacson's running mate, to support Senator Manny Pacquiao.
