Lacson urges early House approval of P4.5T 2021 budget

Senator Panfilo Lacson is urging the House of Representatives to approve the P4.5-trillion national budget for 2021 as soon as possible, ideally before November 1, to prevent delays.

Lacson argues that the Senate needs at least two weeks to study the voluminous General Appropriations Bill after it is transmitted by the House.

Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano's proposal to provide advance copies of the budget bill on November 5 is seen as insufficient by Lacson and other senators, who require an approved version for committee reports.
