Blackwater beats Rain or Shine 139-118 in PBA Governors' Cup

The Blackwater Bossing secured a crucial victory over Rain or Shine on Monday, September 23, winning 139-118 and ending their PBA Governors' Cup campaign with a 5-5 win-loss record.

Import George King delivered an outstanding performance with 64 points and 13 rebounds, surpassing the team's previous import scoring record of 49 points set in his last game against San Miguel Beermen.

Coach Jeff Cariaso praised the team for their character and effort despite missing out on the quarterfinals to NLEX due to a superior quotient.

Rookie Sedrick Barefield contributed 21 points, while Jhonard Clarito, Anton Asistio, import Aaron Fuller, and Caelan Tiongson also scored in double digits.

Blackwater's playoff pursuit ended with their loss to Rain or Shine, but the team will carry momentum into the next conference as they prepare for a best-of-five duel against Magnolia Hotshots starting on Wednesday.
