Kazakhstan's Zhetysu VC advances to AVC Women's Volleyball Champions League semifinals with 3-0 win over PLDT

Kazakhstan's Zhetysu VC secured its spot in the semifinals of the 2025 AVC Women's Volleyball Champions League by defeating PLDT with a decisive 3-0 win at the Philsports Arena on Thursday, April 24.

Despite an initial strong start from PLDT in the third set, Zhetysu responded effectively with key contributions from Tatyana Nikitina and Karyna Denisova to clinch victory in just over an hour.

Zhetysu, a nine-time winner in the Kazakh pro league, will face either Creamline or Thailand's Nakhon Ratchasima Qmin C in the semifinals scheduled for Saturday, April 26.

PLDT concluded its tournament performance with only one victory against Australia's Queensland Pirates earlier in the competition.

Savannah Davison led PLDT's offensive efforts with 13 points, while Wilma Salas added 11 points; Dell Palomata also contributed seven points for the losing side.
