LPA outside PAR; ITCZ brings storms to Mindanao

A low-pressure area (LPA) has developed outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility but remains unlikely to become a tropical cyclone in the short term, according to the weather bureau as of Saturday morning.

The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) continues to affect parts of Southern Mindanao and Zamboanga Peninsula, with scattered thunderstorms expected in Palawan, Bangsamoro, Soccsksargen, Davao Occidental, and isolated areas in Cagayan Valley and Aurora.

Visayas and the rest of Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with localized thunderstorms or rain showers during afternoon and evening due to the ITCZ, while Luzon, including Metro Manila, is expected to see generally fair weather throughout the day.

People are advised to stay updated on local weather advisories and exercise caution during severe storms or thunderstorms.
