Sen. Imee Marcos dismisses Duterte's 'kill 15 senators' joke

Sen. Imee Marcos, sister to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and an ally of ex-President Rodrigo Duterte, dismissed Duterte's joke about killing 15 senators, stating that she was not afraid because she is well-loved by the former president.

Marcos used wordplay during a press conference where she said she was accustomed to 'Davao trash talk,' implying other senators are obstacles and thus disliked by Duterte.

Duterte made the joke at a rally for his party's senatorial bets, suggesting that eliminating 15 senators would create more vacancies.

Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIG) director Maj. Gen. Nicholas Torre filed inciting to sedition and unlawful utterances complaints against Duterte before the Department of Justice following his remarks.

Former Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) chairman Martin Delgra III downplayed the complaint, insisting that Duterte's comment was just a joke.
