Imee Marcos limits contact with Romualdez over policy disagreements

Senator Imee Marcos disclosed during a press conference in Iloilo City on Wednesday that she has limited communication with her cousin, House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez.

Marcos cited disagreements over Romualdez's advocacies, including the People's Initiative and the 2025 budget, as reasons for their infrequent interaction.

She noted that while she greets Romualdez at public events like bill signings, they do not agree on constitutional amendments and other issues.

The senator’s comments were in response to questions about her relationship with Romualdez amid an impeachment petition against Vice President Sara Duterte, whom Marcos considers a friend.

When asked if she would support PDP-Laban's senatorial slate after appearing at the administration's campaign launch in Ilocos Norte, Marcos expressed uncertainty and said she avoids causing trouble.
