First Covid-19 cases confirmed in Eastern Visayas, Marinduque

The first confirmed case of coronavirus in Eastern Visayas is a 51-year-old woman from Catarman, Northern Samar who had traveled to Japan and Manila before showing symptoms.

She arrived in Catarman on March 4 and was admitted to a hospital there on March 10 before being transferred to EVRMC in Tacloban City on March 12.

Local authorities are conducting contact tracing to identify individuals who may have been exposed to the patient.

Meanwhile, Marinduque recorded its first case of coronavirus, involving a 24-year-old man with travel history from Parañaque.
