IATF okays COVID-19 boosters for OFWs deploying within 4 months

The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) has approved giving priority to overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) set for deployment within four months for COVID-19 booster shots.

Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. announced that the IATF is requesting the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to include OFWs in the list of eligible recipients for boosters, which currently only includes medical frontliners, senior citizens, and persons with comorbidity.

NTF spokesperson Retituto Padilla clarified that general booster protocols will still be followed, meaning individuals must have been vaccinated at least six months ago to qualify.
