House Sec Gen Velasco's inspection of Senate prosecutors' area postponed

The House Secretary General Reginald Velasco's planned inspection of the prosecutors' working area in the Senate has been postponed.

Senate Secretary Renato Bantug Jr. confirmed that Velasco and his team have a scheduled meeting after lunch, which might affect their availability for the visit.

Last week, Velasco wrote to Senate President Francis Escudero requesting space for the House Prosecution Panel during Vice President Sara Duterte's impeachment trial.

Speaker Martin Romualdez separately assured Escudero of the House's trust in the fairness and impartiality of the proceedings.

Vice President Sara Duterte was impeached on February 5 by over 200 lawmakers, with the Articles of Impeachment transmitted to the Senate that day.

Escudero has tentatively set July 30 as the start date for the impeachment trial.
