House leadership backs Marcos Jr.'s SONA plans

The House leadership has pledged to support President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s legislative proposals outlined in his upcoming third State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday.

Speaker Martin Romualdez assured Malacañang that the House will act swiftly and translate the President's vision into tangible legislative outcomes, with a focus on economic development, healthcare, education, and infrastructure.

Romualdez emphasized the importance of unity among members of Congress to support the Marcos administration's programs, urging them to transcend political differences and prioritize social bills alongside economic priorities.

The Speaker highlighted the duty of lawmakers to work together to enact laws that improve the lives of Filipinos, inspired by the upcoming SONA, which will set a clear legislative agenda for the remainder of the year.

Congress is also expected to deliberate remaining Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC) bills and aim to complete the proposed 2025 national budget before September.
