House opens second regular session amid pandemic

The House of Representatives opened its Second Regular Session for the 18th Congress on Monday amid the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano presided over a hybrid session attended by 301 lawmakers, with 21 present physically and 280 participating virtually.

Cayetano urged lawmakers to address the issues faced by Filipinos during this crisis, emphasizing the need for faith, sacrifice, and hard work from everyone.
