Marcos Jr. orders PHP411M relief for Typhoon Kristine victims

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has instructed a large-scale relief operation through the House of Representatives to assist families severely impacted by Tropical Storm Kristine.

Speaker Martin Romualdez facilitated the release of PHP411 million in aid for 22 districts affected by the typhoon, including Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, and Mimaropa, with PHP390 million allocated as cash aid.

The Office of the Speaker and Tingog Party-list are preparing a total of 62,500 relief packs worth over PHP21 million to be distributed to affected families.

House Deputy Secretary General Sofonias Gabonada said that mechanisms have been set up to ensure AICS funds reach constituents quickly and efficiently.

Romualdez called on the private sector and NGOs to support government efforts in aiding those affected by the storm, emphasizing solidarity and cooperation.
