House leaders reaffirm support for Romualdez as Speaker

Three House leaders believe that Leyte's Representative Martin Romualdez will remain Speaker of the House for the 20th Congress.

House Deputy Speaker Jayjay Suarez emphasized continuity and stated that a majority of representatives support Romualdez, with no signs of change in leadership.

Nationalist People's Coalition Spokesperson Mark Enverga echoed Suarez's view, noting their commitment to President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. and his legislative agenda.

Iloilo Representative Lorenz Defensor also expressed continued support for Romualdez unless the administration has another candidate in mind.

Suarez denied that a meeting held on Friday was a loyalty check, calling it more of a meet-and-greet after midterm polls.
