Slow traffic on NLEx, SLEx on Maundy Thursday

Motorists in Metro Manila can expect slow-moving traffic on the North Luzon Expressway (NLEx) and South Luzon Expressway (SLEx) on Maundy Thursday.

As of 10:54 a.m., heavy traffic was monitored along Eton, Silangan, Calamba Plaza, Canlubang, and Batino southbound of SLEx, while other areas such as Alabang, Filinvest, Susana Heights, Daang Hari, San Pedro, Southwoods, Carmona, Mamplasan, Sta. Risa, Cabuyao, Calamba, Greenfield, and Sto. Tomas had light traffic.

Patrol teams are stationed at strategic points along both expressways to manage the traffic situation and ensure safety for travelers.

Approximately 10-20 kilometers per hour running speed were monitored on NLEx from Valenzuela interchange to Meycauayan northbound due to increased vehicle volume, with a zipper lane activated southbound of Valenzuela interchange before Ciudad de Victoria.

Passengers heading to Nueva Ecija and Bulacan amassed at the Baliwag Transit terminal due to buses being delayed after getting stuck in heavy traffic on NLEx.
