Cignal secures third PVL seed, beats Akari 3-0

Cignal secured the third seed in the qualifying round of the 2024-25 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference by defeating Akari, 25-17, 25-15, 25-21, on Tuesday at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.

The victory solidifies Cignal's position ahead of Choco Mucho with an 8-3 record and 25 points, ensuring they will face the No. 10 seed from the qualifying round in the knockout phase.

Vanie Gandler led Cignal with 15 points while Roselyn Doria-Aquino contributed 12 points including three kill blocks to earn Best Player of the Game honors.

Rookie Ishie Lalongisip added 10 points, including two aces, and Dawn Catindig tallied 16 excellent digs for Cignal who have now won three consecutive games.

Faith Nisperos was Akari's top scorer with 12 markers but they ended the preliminaries with a two-game skid.
