Duterte thanks health workers, directs DBM-DOH to find compensation

President Duterte thanked doctors, nurses, and other healthcare workers for their efforts in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.

He directed the DBM and DOH to find ways to compensate these frontliners tangibly once the crisis is over.

Senator Risa Hontiveros called for hazard pay for health workers, government employees, military personnel, police, security staff, and service workers involved in containing the outbreak.

Under Republic Act 7305, health workers exposed to danger can receive an additional hazard pay of up to 25% of their monthly salary.
