DOLE launches PHP1.3B cash-for-work program for quarantine-affected workers

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has launched a PHP1.3 billion cash-for-work program, TUPAD #BKBK, to provide temporary employment and financial aid to underemployed, self-employed, and displaced workers affected by the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine.

Under DOLE Order 209, series of 2020, eligible workers can receive PHP5,000 in cash assistance through the COVID-19 Adjustment Program Measure (CAMP) if their companies have implemented flexible work arrangements or temporary closures due to the pandemic.

The program aims to cover up to 250,000 workers from January until April 14, unless extended. Workers will also be provided with emergency employment for 10 days of disinfection/sanitation work in their homes and immediate vicinity.
