Yap remains neutral in House speakership row

House appropriations panel chair Eric Yap said Thursday that he remains 'neutral' in the House of Representatives speakership row to ensure he can concentrate on deliberations for the proposed 2021 national budget.

Yap admitted abstaining from voting on Wednesday regarding Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano's offer to resign, despite previously expressing support for him.

He stated that as appropriations committee chairman, it is his responsibility to remain neutral and focus solely on the budget during this critical time.
