Alice Guo transferred to Pasig City Jail despite conflicting court orders

Former Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo was transferred to the Pasig City Jail Female Dormitory on Monday morning but a Pasig City court later ordered her return to the PNP Custodial Center in Camp Crame, Quezon City pending further resolution.

However, after Guo's transfer to the Pasig City Jail Female Dormitory, a third order by Judge Annielyn Medes-Cabelis ruled that the motion for her to remain at the PNP Custodial Center was considered 'moot', and thus she will remain in custody at the Pasig City Jail.

Guo underwent medical examination revealing a probable infection in her left lung, leading to initial isolation measures before being transferred back to regular cells after testing negative for tuberculosis.

The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) has provided additional personnel for Guo's protection and assured that she will be transferred to common jail facilities once cleared from the lung infection.

Guo remains detained on charges of qualified human trafficking, a non-bailable case, and contempt orders from the Senate and House of Representatives. Her counsels plan to file a petition for bail before her arraignment on September 27.

Meanwhile, seven alleged co-conspirators in Guo's operations were arrested over the weekend by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
