PCCI criticizes govt's last-minute lockdown reversal

The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry criticized the government's last-minute decision to extend the stricter modified enhanced community quarantine in Metro Manila until September 15.

Acting PCCI President Edgardo Lacson said such abrupt changes have significant impacts on businesses and people’s daily lives, urging authorities to be more prudent with policy shifts.

Lacson noted that businesses had already prepared for the reopening under a general community quarantine, leading to financial losses due to the sudden reversal.
