Gov't plans P1,000 'in-kind' aid for poor in NCR Plus

The Duterte government plans to provide P1,000 worth of 'in-kind' assistance per person to low-income individuals in Metro Manila and four nearby provinces during the new one-week lockdown.

Initially, Budget Secretary Wendel Avisado proposed distributing this aid in kind, but Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque later clarified that President Duterte signed a document allowing local governments to distribute the aid either in cash or in kind.

The assistance is intended for 22.9 million individuals from low-income families in NCR Plus areas under enhanced community quarantine until April 4.
